Your crew for every adventure

Here you will get to know our Ski, Bike and Hike Guides. We are ready for every challenge and are looking forward to some fun days on the go, together with you.

Guide and Ride was founded by Stefan Meiseleder who, since childhood, has been spending his time outdoors in Tyrol, Austria and Northern Italy skiing, hiking and mountain biking.

Hence, we offer various all-year round outdoor packages of fun and action in the mountains, for all technical levels. The partnering nationally certified guides know all the tips and tricks as well as secret spots, providing a secure framework for you to experience the feeling of absolute freedom in nature.

Stefan Meiseleder

Since birth, Stefan has spent his winters in the skiing area Lech am Arlberg, and his summers at Lake Idro in the North of Italy. As a sports guide for over 15 years, he is living his passion: lifting the skill of outdoor enthusiasts to the next level.

When he's not guiding, Stefan will still undoubtedly be found in the mountains adventuring solo or with his friends. He feels most at home during the winter, off-piste in fresh deep powder. The rest of the year his time is spent on untreated bike trails, mountaineering, or windsurfing.

The call of the mountains led him to Innsbruck, where he completed his master‘s degree in social and political theory.

Florian Meiseleder
Growing up in the Austrian and Northern Italian mountains, a pair of skies and a bike are Florian's preferred tool when going up and down a mountain. Ten years ago he made his passion a profession and is now a certified mountain bike guide and state certified ski guide. Although he is an outdoor enthusiast, he does not see the mountains as a big amusement park — in his study of geography he works on how sustainable human-environment relations might look like. Besides a unique mountain experience, it is also important for him to pass on awareness about alpine culture and nature.

Paul Pontiller

With his parents owning a ski school, growing up meant every winter revolved around skiing for Paul, and from his first skiing lesson he was hooked. His technique quickly improved through training and race camps, while he soon developed an appetite for adventure, seeking out new challenges and discovered telemarking while freeriding and ski touring in the Chiemgau Alps. Like father, like son, because in 2013 Paul accomplished his state-certified ski instructor qualification. A couple of years later he graduated in process and energy engineering in Innsbruck, and in 2019 he completed the final step in his ski qualification journey and became ski guide, though he believes his training is never over. He still lives his passion by ski guiding alongside his main profession as an engineer.

In his youth, Paul was always to be found somewhere outdoors, or somewhere abroad with the boy scouts. The feeling of adventure and freedom that grabbed him as a boy through backcountry skiing has never left him. Be it right on his doorstep in the Alps, on an expedition in the Andes or between the Sahara and Marrakech, to pass that feeling on to others, for him, is something truly special.

The Bear

Grown up in the mountains, far from any civilization and in complete unity with nature, the bear and Stefan bumped into each other at a multiple day long tour off the beaten track. A conversation emerged between the two and the idea of Guide and Ride was born. For Stefan, the adequate position as operator, guide and sporting allrounder was found immediately, but for the bear this process proved more difficult. It is not used to humans, sleeps the winter away and office work doesn‘t suit him. However, the dream team was not willing to point a finger at the ”problem bear“ and cancel the adventure. Since it was the clear-cut snout which the bear eternalized itself with, as the face of Guide and Ride. And still today, both set forth together to the most solitary places, in order to philosophise about what really counts in life.
